  • Liscarroll Athletic Club was founded in 1990 in the village of Liscarroll, which is situated in North West of County Cork. It always had & continues to have the support of the people in the locality with its members coming from Liscarroll and the surrounding parishes of Kilbrin, Ballyclough, Lisgriffin, Churchtown, Ballyhea, Milford, Dromina, Baltydaniel, Lombardstown, Mallow & further afield. The attraction of Liscarroll Athletic Club to many is its motto "that nothing is impossible to those who are prepared to try" along with the wide range of equipment at hand which allows everyone, to try.Athletic Club Crest

    Running; (Sprints, Middle & Long Distance) Distance at Track & Field as well as Cross Country &    Road)     

    Jumping; (Long, High & Triple Jumps)

    Throws; (Shot Putt, Discus, Javelin, Hammer for the older members & Ball Throw for the very young)

    The Club caters for all individuals who wish to join, i.e. Juveniles from Under 7 (Born in 2002) up to Under 19 (Born in 2000), along with juniors, seniors, & Masters as well as non-competitors.

    Currently there are approximately 105 members registered with the club, made up of 20 Adults & 85 Children.

    In 1992 the Club hosted an International Cross Country event at which athletes from the Ukraine, Portugal, Belgium, France and Kenya as well as top Irish Athletes competed. This was the first time that Kenyan athletes competed in an International event in Ireland, one of those was Lydia Cheromei who won the ladies event.

    Training is currently done all-year round starting in January for indoors, continuing on into July & August for Track & Field & on to Cross Country in September to the end of the year. The Club has 2 level 2 Coaches in athletics along with 3 Level 1, & a number of Basic Level Coaches.

    Training takes place in the local G.A.A. Grounds & Community Centre on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 6.30pm to 8.00pm with sessions also on Fridays.

    The Club has held an Annual Open Sports Meeting each year since its foundation.

    Official Club Colours; Green Singlet with one Black & one White diagonal stripe on the front, along with Black Shorts.
